Burns Night

London in January

A highlight event of London in January, Burns Night pays tribute to the eminent Scottish poet Robert Burns with poetry readings and traditional Scottish music, as well as hearty food and a dram or two of Scotch whisky. A number of events take place across the capital, with many restaurants hosting Burns Night suppers.

Chinese New Year

Hosting what’s said to be the biggest Chinese New Year celebration outside of Asia, London puts on a day of festivities (this year celebrating the Year of the Rooster) across Trafalgar Square, Chinatown and the West End. Visitors can expect a costumed parade that winds its way along the festival route, with stage performances in Trafalgar Square.
